mBaSo is your Backstage Pass to your favourite Bands online, giving you exclusive access to your favourite music artist and the opportunity to be one of their most valued fans and a key part of their road to success.
As a subscriber of your favourite Artist's mBaSo, you can
1) download new music every month from your favourite Artist before it's available anywhere else.
2) support your favourite Artist's career, so that they can afford to spend more time writing and recording music for you.
3) chat and interact with your favourite Artist in an exclusive environment, with access to exclusive content and offers.
Some Artists may also give you the opportunity to contribute to their creative process.
You want your favourite Artists to write and record as much music as possible. They also want to do that. But often two main things stop this happening:
1) Established artists have to spend a lot of time promoting the previous recordings, to get people to buy the music, before they can make the next record.
2) Less established artists often have to subsidise their music with other paid work, to keep food on the table.
But you already love their music and know that you are going to buy everything they release anyway, so you would rather they spend less time on promotion, and more time creating music and getting out on the road so you can see them perform those favourite songs live!
Therefore, on mBaSo, you can buy everything they release automatically. And your Artist knows that you have already signed up to buy it. So they can focus their time on you.
Plus they really care what you think of the music and so take more time to listen and respond to what you want to say or ask them.
Each mBaSo Artist will upload different types of content to mBaSo, and more details about how they make the most of their mBaSo can be seen on their Spotlight Page and in their 'welcome video' shown on that page.
Each Artist's Backstage Area has several different zones. As well as your Monthly Download Track, there are Photo Galleries, Videos (eg. video diaries, inside the recording studio, rare performances), Story (eg. more written about your Artist's history and background than normally revealed), Live Listings, and exclusive Blog Posts.
Your mBaSo Artist also has a Playlist, where they may choose to upload some or all of their BackCatalogue Tracks for online streaming and easy access from wherever you are. They may upload radio interview archives or new mixes / arrangements from their latest recording studio session to get your feedback and help them make a choice.
mBaSo Backstage is an exclusive area to interact with your Favourite Artist, access exclusive content, and contribute to their creative process.
As detailed above, mBaSo gives you so much more than what you get on other sites.
1) Included in your subscription is the purchase of a new exclusive track for you to download every month. This is automatic, so you don't have to worry about buying the track, and as their mBaSo Fan you can enjoy having your favourite Artists latest track downloaded to your chosen device before anyone else.
2) Additionally your subscription gives you access to lots more exclusive content, not available on other sites.
Plus, mBaSo is a great place to explore lots of your Artist's archives, BackCatalogue, and history.
3) An important part of mBaSo is that, by being a subscriber of your favourite Artist, you are helping to support them financially in an uncertain and difficult music industry. You are empowering them to afford to spend less time on promotion or a day job, and more time creating that precious music that you love so much. By being one of their mBaSo subscribers you become part of the reason they can afford to make more music for you and the rest of the world. You become their most valuable asset, not just because you love their music, but because you're the reason they can make it happen!!
4) Finally, mBaSo also gives you membership to an exclusive club of SuperFans, who love your Artist's music as much as you. You know they are true fans because they too want to be part of your Artist's Road to Success, and to buy everything your Artist releases and receive it first. On mBaSo, you can make friends with like-minded Fans, knowing that you already share this commitment and passion for your Artist, and can nurture new friendships on your journey together!
First create a fan account.
Then go to your favourite Artist's mBaSo Spotlight Page using the URL they sent you, or search for their name in the search bar, or browse for an Artist on the 'Browse Artists' Page. (hyperlink)
Once on their Spotlight Page, click the 'Subscribe' button, which will show you a table with payment options. Select your preferred method, using our secure system. Then 'Go Backstage' and enjoy your favourite Artist's special Backstage content.
You can choose to pay monthly or annually, and by Direct Debit or Credit Card.
If you choose annual payments, you will be rewarded with two FREE months as part of your membership.
Payments are recurring, and so automatically repeat each month / year via your chosen method.
Yes. You can unsubscribe at any time, and your access to that Artist's mBaSo will end at the end of the current 'Download-Track-Month' (if you are on a monthly subscription). If you pay yearly, your access will end after the time remaining on your yearly subscription.
What happens if one of my mBaSo Artists does not continue their mBaSo?
If one of your Artists decides to close their mBaSo Backstage, and you are on a
1) monthly subscription: your membership will end at the end of that 'Download-Track-Month'.
2) yearly subscription: you will receive a full refund for any 'Download-Track-Months' remaining on your yearly subscription.
We believe in giving you as much choice as possible. You can choose to make your subscription payment each month or each year. At £1.50/month, if you choose yearly payments, you will be rewarded with two FREE months as part of your year's membership.
So the cheapest option for you is a yearly subscription, by Direct Debit, which averages to only £1.25/month.
If one of your Artists decides to close their mBaSo Backstage, and you are on a
1) monthly subscription: your membership will end at the end of that 'Download-Track-Month'.
2) yearly subscription: you will receive a full refund for any 'Download-Track-Months' remaining on your yearly subscription.
The 'Download-Track-Month' is the 30 or 31 days when your exclusive monthly download track from that Artist is available for you to download.
The release day may not be the first day of the calendar month. However the Artist's 'Download-Track-Month' will have the same start date each month.
For example, it may be the 5th of the month, therefore the 'Download-Track-Month' for that Artist is from the 5th to the 4th of the following month, with the next track being released on the 5th of that following month.
You must download the track during this time, and it is your responsibility to check mBaSo regularly.
mBaSo will send you an email to remind you that your download track has been released to you by your mBaSo Artist. Please ensure that your inbox can receive mail from mBaSo, and that it does not go into your spam.
The Spotlight Page is an mBaSo Artist's 'shop window' to the world. It is an introduction to their music and the welcome video is a chance for them to tell you what you will find on their mBaSo.
The URL for an Artist's Spotlight page is usually http://www.mbaso.com/theirbandname
You can share this URL with anyone, whether or not they have an mBaSo account.
Yes. We love it when you want to share with your friends how special mBaSo and our Artists are.
On the Artist's "Share" tab in the menu bar of their Backstage area, you will find your unique referral URL for that Artist, which you can share with friends on your other websites, social networking sites or by email.
The URL will take them to the Artist's Spotlight Page. When a new Fan subscribes to the Artist's mBaSo after clicking your link to their Spotlight Page, you will receive points to your account.
Points can be earned by sharing Artists' content with friends, using your unique referral link. If a new Fan subscribes after clicking your link, you will receive reward points.
Points can be used to get free subscriptions to new mBaSo Artists. It is a great way to discover new music, or fund subscriptions to more of your favourite Artists!
If a friend clicked through your link, but navigated away from that page or the site before eventually subscribing, your web-browser may not have tracked the new subscription in relation to your referral. Please make sure new fans subscribe directly after clicking your link to avoid this, and to ensure you receive your reward points.
Yes. Cookies are used on mBaSo for login and for making payments which are both necessary for the operation of the site. We also use Google Analytics.
On mBaSo we respect your privacy and do not share your contact information with any 3rd parties. We do however allow your mBaSo Artists to have your email address, for addition to their mailing list, but you can choose to opt out of this in your Privacy Settings on your account. Even if you opt out of this, you can still choose to receive messages from your Artists on mBaSo if you wish, without them ever seeing your email address or contact details.
The only contact information that is visible on your account to other users is your City and Country.
No. Other Fans will not be able to find your Fan Profile in search on mBaSo. The only way other Fans can view your Fan Profile Page is if you have given them the direct URL link to your Profile Page, or if they have clicked through a comment you have made in one of your mBaSo Artist's Backstage Area. A Google search or other search engine may list your profile in its results, but usually only for a search of your name, i.e. users anonymously searching for Fans of mBaSo will not easily find your profile. Artists you are subscribed to will be able to find and view your profile, and you will appear in their Fan list, which is only visible to that Artist.
On mBaSo, we have designed our system very carefully to avoid spam as much as possible. As a Fan, you can receive private messages from mBaSo Artists you are subscribed to, but from no others. This means you won't be receiving messages from Artists you don't know asking you to subscribe to them. You can also opt out of receiving messages from your mBaSo Artists, if you only want to receive your monthly download track and no other news.
You can be contacted by other Fans by private message but only if you choose to by opting in. You can also make a Friend connection with other Fans, but only if they accept your request. If you do not want to receive any Friend Requests, you can opt out of this site feature. You also can choose to only receive private messages from Fans who are already connected to you as a Friend.
If you don't want to receive updates from your mBaSo Artist with news, or information about other content on their mBaSo, then you can opt out receiving other notifications.
Whilst most mBaSo Fans consider updates from their Artist a crucial part of their subscription, we understand that some of you just want the latest music and don't want to receive more in your email inbox. You can also choose to not be contacted in any way by any other Fans on mBaSo.
Then, the only notifications you'll receive is an email reminding you that the latest monthly download track has been released, notifications about payments, and other important emails regarding your account.
You must ensure that you have javascript switched on in your web browser to use mBaSo properly. Most modern web browsers automatically have this enabled so most of you won't have to worry about this. However if you are using an older browser (eg ……) you may wish to consider upgrading your web browser to see mBaSo at it's best, as well as for many other modern websites.
We dislike Captcha as many users find it difficult and time-consuming to use. We will use it only in select places on the site, where it is absolutely necessary. Currently we only use it in the registration process to make sure you're human and not a spam bot.
It is your responsibility to ensure that any comments you write on mBaSo will not be deemed offensive by other users. Any comments deemed inappropriate will be removed.
If you are repeatedly found to abuse your privileges, and are not behaving in keeping with our Fan Terms and Conditions, your Account may be suspended or deleted, and you will lose access to any subscriptions. For more details please read our Fan Terms and Conditions.
Yes, you can choose to receive email notifications whenever an Artist you are subscribed to posts new content. You can specify the type of content you would like to receive emails about. To receive these emails you can opt-in, in your account notification settings. You can choose to receive these as daily, weekly or monthly updates.
You can choose to receive email notifications when your Artist or a fellow Fan responds to one of your comments.
Yes. You will always receive an email to remind you that the new Download Track from one of your mBaSo Artists is ready for you to download. Please ensure that your inbox can receive emails from mBaSo and it does not go into your spam. It is your responsibility to download the track during the month whilst it is available.
There may be other Artists you like on mBaSo, but only want to subscribe to them later. You can add these Artists to your mBaSo wishlist, so you can return to their Spotlight Page any time. You can also add their Spotlight Page Tracks to your Playlist?
To your Playlist you can add any of your Artists Tracks, from their Backstage 'Music' tab or their Spotlight Page. You can also add tracks from other mBaSo Artists Spotlight Pages, while you decide whether to subscribe to them.
You can change the order of the tracks by dragging and dropping the tracks in your Playlist into any order. Please remember to click 'save' so that any changes will be there next time you access your Playlist.
You can stream songs on your Playlist on your chosen device from anywhere that you have a good internet connection.
